Christopher Ball is currently a law student at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, where he also grew up. He is an associate editor of the Queen's Law Journal, president of the Intellectual Property Association, and on the executive of the Environmental Law Club. In summer 2008, Chris interned with the Canadian Internet Policy & Public Interest Clinic, for whom he continues to act as an occasional consultant. He also plays bass in Specific Performance, a classic rock cover band made up of Queen's Law students.
When law school and related activities aren't taking up all of his time, Chris enjoys reading, gardening, engaging in culinary experiments, beer tasting, Ultimate, volleyball, and of course writing (both in blog and non-blog form).
Prior to law school, Chris held an unusual variety of jobs: research assistant in a neuroscience lab, mobile phone software developer, technical assistant at a medical school, landscaper, and designer of secret military technology. He has a Bachelor of Science in engineering physics from Queen's University and started a graduate degree in electrical engineering at McGill University before deciding he would rather be a lawyer.
